How Do I Find Out If I Am Cpr Certified
Have you taken a CPR class in the past and want to find out if you are still certified in CPR? Figuring this out shouldnt be too difficult.
CPR guidelines are updated every 5 years and because CPR is a hands on skill, the certification requires renewal every two years. Hopefully, your memory goes back at least two years and you likely know if you took a course within that time frame. If your course was close to two years ago or even longer- its time to get recertified.
If your course was in the last two years, its most likely you received a digital certification. As of 2018, the American Heart Association and Red Cross began issuing electronic cards only. To claim the electronic certification card or eCard you will need to respond to the email sent to you by either of those organizations or visit their website to search for your certification.
You can search for an AHA eCard on their website here. This website can also be used by employers to verify that the eCards presented to them are legitimate. Believe it or not, there are a lot of fraudulent CPR certifications or certifications made to look like the widely accepted AHA eCards but they are not really AHA certifications. Employers can click the Employers tab and enter in the eCard code from an individual’s certification to check the legitimacy.
For Red Cross certifications, you can go to their site here. You will enter the email you gave your instructor in class to find your certification.
How To Verify A Cpr Certification

Legitimate AHA Certification with QR code. This card was claimed on the AHA website and then printed.
In 2018, when the American Heart Association switched to eCards only they added a verifiable QR code to every certification. The individual code can be verified to prove legitimate certification on the American Heart Association website. This gives both the student and the employer peace of mind. However, as we have said, you will need to look at cards carefully. Many fake certifications are imitating the AHAs QR code but when you use the QR code you will see it does not go the AHA website. Only QR codes that go to www.ecards.heart.org are legitimate.

Online Vs Local Cpr Classes
Both online CPR training and local CPR classes present their own set of advantages. For example, in-person training allows you to see hands-on demonstrations of techniques. If youre a visual learner who thrives in such learning environments, then a local CPR class may be ideal.
However, when you consider the explosion of video technologies, many people question if theyre missing out on anything if they opt to study educational materials exclusively online. The incorporation of video technologies along with comprehensive training materials that can be accessed anytime and anywhere has fueled the growth on online learning centers such as CPRNM.
With this platform, you can:
